“For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water, And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
I can feel a soothing peace wash over me as I read this verse. Finally, the Lamb who has been at the center all along is fully realized as the center of it all.
Someday, The Lamb, the Center, the Shepherd will lead us to springs of living water.
Us and Jesus.
Face to face.
Together at last.
The invisible is now visible.
The uncertain is now certain.
The mystery is now reveled.
Water that once brought death during the flood is now full of life everlasting.
Then God, the Maker of all things, wipes the water from our eyes.
Every. Single. Tear.
What on earth will we do when the Almighty God leans down and tenderly touches our faces? Will He have to hold us up with the other hand?
Visualizing the beautiful end and pondering parts of the beginning often puts this middle part of existence into a more Godly perspective.
I frequently loose proper perspective.
I’m thankful for the middle, for God has so much to teach us. He’s perfecting us, purifying us, and using us for His purposes. It is an honor to live here in the middle.
And yet, trusting in God’s perfect timing, I am looking forward to Someday.
