“We must pay careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.” Hebrews 2:1
I have a plant in my house that I keep forgetting about. It’s not in the kitchen or the family room or my bedroom. It’s located in a room I hardly ever go in. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve nearly killed it because I have forgotten to water it.
If I want assurance that this thing won’t die, I have to put it in front of me and water it whenever it’s thirty.
My spiritual life can be a lot like this plant.
I need reminders.
I need Jesus in front of me.
I need to pay careful attention to what he says.
I don’t want to ever drift away, or wither like my plant.
I’m paying attention to him today.
