What an uncertain time! Is anyone else getting super excited and antsy about the end of this thing?
It brings up so many questions.
What is everything going to look like? When is life going to feel normal? Where is God taking us in all of this? What is he doing in it? Our Pastor, Aaron, has been talking about going to where God is working. Where is that exactly? Am I the only one who is wondering where that is in all of this?
Am I missing where he wants me to be?
In my time with God, he is reminding of me these things:
1) He is close and he is faithful.
God promises to be close to us always. Do you feel it? He is here with us. He is faithfully standing by our side, supporting us when we need it. I am leaning hard into that knowledge, especially on the days where everything feels so incredibly difficult.
2) He is guiding my path.
“The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
“He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.”
What a great insight and promise! God will guide us along the best path for our life. Not the path that brings us the most happiness, not the path we would choose, not the path we want, not even the path we understand, but the BEST path for our life. That path will keep our hearts close to Him, point people in our lives to Jesus, and give glory to God. We can know that God is working for our good.
So as we wait expectantly for things to be revealed (what life will be like, where God is working and how we can be part of it):
Let’s trust his plan.
Let’s trust his faithfulness.
Let’s trust that he is close.
Let’s continue to give him praise.
Let’s keep our eyes on him, knowing that as we do, he sets us on the best path.
